Fan art "The spirited away"

Rendered a cinematic scene from 'Spirited Away' using Blender, capturing the essence of the film's atmosphere



  • Collected references and created a reference deck in PureRef.



  • Modeled train pieces bit by bit, checking topology throughout.

  • Completed the train model and then modeled the train station.

  • Used basic geometry node setup and array modifier to create planks.



  • Applied various UV mapping techniques: smart UV, project from view, and box UV, depending on the part.



  • Utilized websites like AmbientCG and Poly Haven for textures.

  • Created procedural materials for rusty metal and glass.

  • Performed texture painting to add algae and water droplets on the train and station.



  • Animated water and the train hitting the water using physics properties in Blender.

  • Animated the train itself using an empty object.

  • Added foliage and animated camera movements.



Rendered the final scene.
